Privacy policy

Proofbuild is run by Hamina Samimo, an individual in Malaysia. This page says what the service collects, who else handles it, and how to ask for something to be removed. You can reach us at support@proofbuild.dev.
If you chat with a Proofbuild chatbot
The question you type, and the earlier messages in the same conversation, go to our server. The server passes them to Anthropic, an AI company, which writes the answer. We do not save conversations in our database and our own logs do not contain them. To avoid paying twice for the same question, the server keeps recent answers to repeated first questions in its memory. That memory is not written to the database and is cleared when the server restarts.
Your IP address is used to limit how many questions one visitor can ask in an hour. It is stored in a counter in our database, together with the hour and the number of questions. The counters are deleted automatically, though not on an exact schedule.
Visitors who only chat get no cookie from Proofbuild. Proofbuild uses no local storage, no advertising cookies and no analytics. Our host, Netlify, records standard request details such as IP address and time when it serves a page.
If you create an account
We store your email address, a salted hash of your password (never the password itself), and a record of each sign-in: a hash of the session token and when it expires. Signing in sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days and is removed when you sign out. It is needed for the account to work, so there is no cookie banner. Sign-up and sign-in attempts are counted in the same kind of hourly counters as above, by IP address and by the email address typed, to stop password guessing.
We keep your account until you ask us to delete it. Deleting it also removes your chatbots, your sign-in records and your usage counts.
If you set up a chatbot
We store the business name, the website address, the text read from that website (the same site only, up to 25 pages, following its robots.txt) and any notes you add, and the account they belong to. We read the website again about once a week to keep the chatbot current. We keep all of this until you delete the chatbot or ask us to delete your account. If you email us, we keep your message so we can reply.
You decide where the chatbot appears, so you are responsible for telling your visitors that a chatbot is in use. The chat window links to this page for that reason.
Who else handles the data
- Anthropic writes the answers, so chat messages and the business information go to it.
- Neon hosts the database that holds chatbots and counters.
- Netlify hosts the website and the server code.
Each of them has its own privacy policy. We do not sell data and we do not use it for advertising.
Your choices
Email us to ask for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, including a chatbot you set up. If you only chatted with a chatbot on someone else's website, we hold almost nothing about you beyond the counter entry above, and the business that runs that chatbot controls what it says.
